One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
(Deut 19:15)
Who are the 2 witnesses of revelation 11?
Updated: 2-15-2020
The identity of the two witnesses is not certain. It's hard not to speculate, with a few prophets spoken of who had not seen death who could possibly fulfill the role of the two witnesses of revelation 11; Enoch and Eliyah. Some say, Daniel and John the Disciple/Revelator could be the two witnesses. Whoever the two witnesses are, these 2 witnesses spoken of in revelation chapter eleven will be accepted by those who keep The Most High's commandments, and have the testimony of Yeshua. The world is going to hate the two witnesses. They will not detract from their message; Repent, the Kingdom of heaven is upon this generation, and the two witnesses will usher in the reign of The King of King's, Yeshua haMashiach.
Throughout the Bible we hear of two particular angels, Michael and Gabriel. The two witnesses that saved Lot were possibly these angels. They have appeared with Melek Tzadik(Melchezidek - King of Righteousness, this is Yeshua!) when they visited Abraham prior to destroying Sodom and Gomorrah.
And יהוה appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
And said, יהוה, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
(Gen 18:1-3)
And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before יהוה.
(Gen 18:22)
These two men were on a mission and knew exactly what they had to do. Have you noticed how they were already sent to warn and remove Lot from the city prior to Abraham asking?
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground
For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of יהוה; and יהוה hath sent us to destroy it.
(Gen 19:13)
It really is true, that The Most High knows what we have need of before we ask and will provide!
And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; יהוה being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
(Gen 19:16)
Daniel was visited by one angel, Gabriel, who said the other angel, Michael, was busy dealing with the devil.
And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy Elohim, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
(Dan 10:3-14)
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
(Dan 12:1-2)
James and John's mother knew about how important the two witnesses were, but it seems likely that the position was already filled.
Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
(Matt 20:20-21)
Here is Gabriel again, delivering a very important message to Zacharias, about his newborn son that was on the way, John, Yeshua's cousin! John fulfilled the role of EliYah who prepared the way before The Lamb!
And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of יהוה; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
(Luke 1:19)
Gabriel: warrior of God, man of God and/or God is my strength. Gabriel says He stands in the presence of The Most High. This is a clear indication of a characteristic of the two witnesses...
One of the identity and role hints of the two witnesses is spoken of in the book of Zecharaiah chapter 4
Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my master.
Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Master of the whole earth.
(Zechariah 4:1-14 - ZekarYah - Yah has remembered)
Now the birth of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
(Matt 1:18-20)
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
(Luke 1:26-27)
Were they the two angels that were at Yeshua's grave when Mary showed up? It seems so.
When Yeshua rose from the dead, there were two witnesses there, giving a testimony!
But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,
And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Yahushua had lain.
And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Rabbi, and I know not where they have laid him.
(John 20:11-13)
Here they are again. At a significant event, giving a testimony on how Yeshua will return! I'm seeing a pattern here!
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
(Acts 1:9-10)
Perhaps these 2 angels, Gabriel and Michael are the two witnesses! Or perhaps The Most High will fulfill this role another way. Whoever the two witnesses are, our community intends to recognize them when they arrive or shortly thereafter! Then we will truly know who the two witnesses of revelation chapter 11 actually are.
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the Elohim of the earth.
And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
(Rev 11:3-7)
Finally, after all the scriptural evidence is in and weighed, along with prayer, it seems clear that so far the two witnesses who have been on the scene at important events and gave testimony in support of The Most High, are non other than Michael and Gabriel. But I will not limit The Most High in His applications, because He can do whatever He pleases and he could raise up two witnesses from a couple of rocks to testify! HalleluYah!
What will the two witnesses do when they arrive?
The two witnesses will warn the world of the coming judgment, speak with authority from The Most High and will absolutely fulfill the mission expected of the two witnesses.
The 2 witnesses are given a reed, which is like a rod (used to measure or judge) and are specifically told to measure the temple of God, the altar, and them that worship therein.
The 2 Sent One's will point out the contradictions in doctrines and make attempts at explaining how to love The Father. They will implore all to consider their ways and be wise, and make righteous judgments going forward. They who do know their God will then understand that The Most High has sent the 2 witnesses and be joined together in true worship of The Father by the leading of the Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit).
Where will the two witnesses testify?
The two witnesses will begin and end their mission and testimony in Jerusalem.
When will the two witnesses testimony happen?
The timing is explicitly written in the 12th chapter of Daniel.
And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
(Dan 12:8-12, KJV)
The scribe of Matthew and the scribe of Mark, both had found it necessary to alert the reader: "He who reads this, let him understand." when referring to the abomination that makes desolte or also called, the abomination of desolation.
They are pointing to the book of Daniel, chapter 12 where the Melek (angel) is speaking to Daniel about these future events but Daniel is not comprehending it all. The melek then tells him of the 2 key events to watch for and their exact timing which relate directly to the timing of the return of Yeshua Messiah. That is; The cutting off of the daily sacrifice and 1,290 days later the abomination of desolation. This is known as Yaacov's trouble (Jeremiah 30:7) and the tribulation period. After the abomination of desolation and before Messiah returns, there is a 45 day period that will be shortened by The Father, this time period is referred to as Great Tribulation.
Matthew 24:21-22 states: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
45 days after the abomination of desolation is the scheduled return of Yeshua, HOWEVER, the days are shortened, by The FATHER, and only The FATHER knows the exact day He will send Yeshua to rescue His people! Yeshua will save them from destruction when it seems hopeless, as in the days of the exodus from Egypt and the pursuit of Pharoah and his armies.Prepare yourself now!
Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Why will the two witnesses be sent?
The Most High is shedding His final compassion on all flesh by sending His 2 prophets to warn the world of His impending judgment and establish His Righteous Kingdom on His planet earth. The Most High set a time clock in motion long ago, with specific dates to accomplish His goals, which is to find people to worship Him in truth and in their minds, and thereby loving Him with all their heart. He will bring those who follow Him with honor to positions of authority in His Kingdom. They will have a part in the first resurrection, which those who have received this, will never die and will reign with Yeshua as Kings and Priests in His Kingdom.
HalleluYah!
How will the two witnesses perform their mission?
Not by power, nor by might, but by My Ruach says YeHoVaH(The LORD)!
Folks, please remember the words of Yeshua, which is to this generation and you if you believe His report;
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
(Luke 21:34-36, KJV)
We are an international community waiting, watching, praying and discussing the arrival of the 2 witnesses of revelation 11! We will be watching for their arrival when they come. We hope to greet them, show them that they are appreciated, and, if it be possible or necessary, to be a service to them in any way should they require any type of assistance.
So you in like manner, when you shall see these things come to pass;
• many shall claim to be with Messiah and shall DECEIVE MANY
• hear of wars and rumors of wars
• nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom
• famines, pestilences and earthquakes in different places
• His people being delivered up to be afflicted and killed
• His people being hated by all nations because of Mashiach
• many offended, betraying and hating one another
• many false prophets appearing and deceiving many
• iniquity as accepted behavior and the love of many growing cold
• the good news (gospel) being preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations
know that it is nigh, [even] at the doors.
Remember: Those that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
